NFL: VIKINGS vs. PACKERS (11-21-10)

In the NFL, you never know when a game might be your last. I went into the game thinking this could easily be the case for Brett Favre. All it takes - is one hit. One helmet to helmet. One bad game. Turns out, it was the last game.. for Brad Childress as coach of the Minnesota Vikings.

I was blessed with the opportunity to get up close and personal with players at practice the day before, and almost smashed during the game as James Jones scores a touchdown. It was a fun game to capture, although I was pulling for Favre and the Vikings against the Packers on behalf of my Chicago Bears!

I had a blast shooting the game, and as you can tell, a lot of my focus was on Brett Favre and trying to capture a shot for my office space. Now I can't decide which one to use! Check out some of my favorites below and watch the slideshow for more!

2010 REGGIE WAYNE'S WISHING ON STARS

This was my second year in a row that I've been fortunate enough to be a part of Reggie Wayne's Wishing on Stars event. Each year, I have been AMAZED by the generosity of those that come out to support such a worthy cause, as well as the athletes and local celebrities that take the time to be a part of something bigger. I must admit that I'm extremely impressed with Reggie! In a nutshell, the night consists of players from both the Colts & Pacers and local celebrities walking around auctioning off some very entertaining moments. Whether it's a LARGE donation for a simple autograph, or phone call to a friend/family member, or - my favorite - last year's Roy Hibbert singing "This Little Light of Mine", the night is filled with energy, laughter, and awe as people so generously donate to support the United Way of Central Indiana.

Okay, so what impresses me about Reggie is the way he makes everyone feel like a personal friend. I've had the opportunity to meet some pretty well known athletes and celebrities from different events I've shot, and only a few of them display the sincerity like Reggie Wayne. While others from the event slowly make their way to the Monday Night Football game on at the bar, Reggie is walking around to each and every attendee taking the time for a quick autograph or snapshot long after the event has ended. A great cause AND a great guy! (This coming from a Bears fan!)

The Longs :: Indianapolis Portrait Photographer

Last April I donated a photo shoot to be auctioned off for a wonderful event, Indianapolis' first Coaches' Huddle. Chaired by Butler University Men's Basketball Head Coach Brad Stevens, it was a VIP reception with auctions, cocktails, food, and dancing. Proceeds from the event supported the Coaches' vs. Cancer program, a collaboration between the American Cancer Society and the National Association of Basketball Coaches that empowers coaches, their teams and communities to join the fight against cancer. Child's Play :: Indianapolis Portrait Photographer

I love the innocence of childhood. Running through fields. Picking grass. Jumping off benches. Rolling down hills. Such sweet simplicity! While that was taking place, I managed to grab a few shots of Jayden and her curiosity. I love a shoot when I feel like at the end, I just had a great play date! 2010 CHRISTMAS CARDS!

Okay, I admit it… I’m already listening to Christmas music on Pandora – but only when my wife isn’t around. She thinks it should be outlawed to listen to it before Thanksgiving. I just say every day is a day to be thankful for!

On that note, I’m thankful to the great people who helped design my Christmas cards for 2010. I’m excited about the wide selection I have available for this year and am struggling to decide which one to use for MY family! I’m also keeping last years templates as options and have included those in the slideshow as well.

Sophie is ONE!!!

Sophie is one of my first "Growing Year Package" kids (meaning three shoots over the period of a year), since I just started offering it a year ago! I love getting to watch them grow. I especially enjoy getting to know the families more, and it keeps me accountable to taking more pics of my own children when I sit down to edit them and reflect on their changes. Sophie brings such joy, tender smiles, and the kind of presence that easily encourages this family to add more children to their home. Congratulations Sophie, on being a big sister; looking forward to another year with you and Baby Schlueter!
